Tooth-Colored Filling & Bonding

Bonding is an aesthetic method to improve your smile with the same shade of dental materials as your adjacent teeth. The filling is a composite resin utilized after a cavity has been removed adequately.

A composite resin is used on the decayed tooth and placed on the well-prepared tooth. After the resin has been applied, an ultraviolet light is used to harden the resin and then finished by polishing to give you a new smile.

Tooth-colored filling is a much improved development compared to black or silver amalgam filling. It is an aesthetic, dependable and affordable solution in modern dentistry.

Crowns & Bridges

As we age and our teeth succumb to decay and various other dental problems, crowns can restore both the function and appearance of the damaged teeth or tooth. Crowns are caps that cover and protect the damaged tooth to ensure that no further problems develop.

Bridges are made of a pontic, the new tooth to replace the missing one, supported by crowns on either side. Depending on your case, there are different types of bridges used.

The downsides to crowns and bridges are only temporary. Between your first visit and last visit, be sure to eat soft and non-sticky foods so the temporary crown or bridge is not damaged. In the few days following your last visit, continue eating soft foods to allow the crown or bridge to settle in. Once you get used to the new crown or bridge, you will find that you will be able to eat any foods you wish again.

Dentures

Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth. Depending on your case, different types of dentures may be recommended.

  • Full dentures are used when all teeth are missing or have been removed. There are two type types of complete dentures: conventional full dentures and immediate full dentures. The main difference between the two is whether the dentures are immediately placed.
    • With conventional dentures, you must give your gums healing time after removing all teeth. Once your gums have healed, your dentures will be placed.
    • With immediate dentures, the dentures will be made beforehand so they are ready to place once all teeth are removed. Thus, during healing time, you won’t be without teeth. However, more adjustments are required since your bones and gums will shrink during healing time.
  • Partial dentures are used when not all teeth need to be removed.

Extractions
There are mainly two types of teeth that are candidates for extraction: severely dentally-compromised teeth and impacted (wisdom) teeth.

A tooth is considered impacted if it does not fully emerge from the gums. The most common teeth to become impacted are wisdom teeth, the last teeth to emerge.

Endodontic Therapy (Root Canal)

When a tooth is injured or unhealthy, endodontic therapy may be recommended to eliminate infection and prevent infection from reoccurring. In order to eliminate and prevent infection, the pulp tissue and nerves must be removed.

The procedures for endodontic therapy is more commonly known as "root canal". While root canals have earned a notorious reputation as a frightening dental operation, technological innovation has made the procedure relatively painless.
